an oldie but a goodie.

on friday i did the impossible. i took all three of my kids to run errands. i was dreading the outing very much. but to my amazement all three kids were good as GOLD! I KNOW i was amazed too!

while at costco i spotted this dvd and remembered watching this particular version of alice in wonderland as a child and since my kids were so good i splurged (a whole $5) and made the whole lot happy. i couldn't believe the all star cast that is in it, John Stamos, Scott Baio, Ringo Star and more actors from a long time ago. granted the acting in it is a little cheesy and the special effects are, well 1985, but an all around good movie and i've enjoyed watching it again as an adult, and watching my kids enjoy the same movie i enjoyed as a child.

adelle: i see a daddy and two little girls at the playground. now i see a little girl that is sad and a daddy has come to help her. now i see a daddy and two little girls at the beach!

i survied...

on thursday adelle asked what survived meant. scott then proceeded to explain the meaning of survive by giving her the example of a plane crash.

Scott: if there was a plane crash and you were the only one that lived, that would mean you survived.

Adelle: yeah i survived because i did this (as she put her arms in front of her hands placed on the edge of the table in front of her and head tucked between her elbows. just like the pictures in the airplane safety pamphlet)!

(i didn't even teach her that she must of looked at the pamphlet on the airplane)

Lilly's new best friend

Lilly and I have been going to the gym lately. Lilly to play, and me well to play too (mostly i sweat though). The other day she tells me about her new best friend.

Lilly: (la, la, la something about) "Lucy"

Me: Who's Lucy?

Lilly: My best friend.

Me: Oh yeah what does she look like.

Lilly: She wears clothes.

I should hope so. I assure you all that I do not allow my kids to play with other kids unless they wear clothes.

too bad...

Adelle: "i wish we could go to mcdonalds. too bad its not appropriate and it's bad for us."

wouldn't it be nice if junk food was good for us and the good stuff was really bad? ahhh...we can dream.

how i love your how the simple things make you happy, (this is an assignment she had at school)...

Washington Monument

One of the girl's favorite parts of Washington DC is when we can see the Washington Monument from the car.

A couple of days ago we drove into DC and Lilly excitedly exclaimed:

"There's people walking in the 'Big Pencil' that doesn't work like a pencil"
