Step 3: Wait for husband to leave message for you.

So I had to post this to show you all how cute my husband is.
Adelle got these letters in her stocking for Christmas, but Scott and I have been having way more fun with them than she has. For the record Scott started it and left me a message, and then I left a message for him. We have been going back and forth for almost two months now and we are getting pretty creative in changing the letters to look like other letters, and coming up with messages. It has been so much fun and made me really appreciate being married to Scott!

Perfect day to Catch up!

It's Catch-up Time!
So this is what it looks like outside at our house right now. Which is so funny to me because 30 minutes prior to this being taken it was bright and sunny and beautiful. (The proof is in the picture taken of my fence in a later post it was taken about 30 minutes to an hour before this one.) So I thought we will catch up on our blog, since laundry is caught up, and I don't really want to work on a project this morning.
So here are a bunch of updates on our little family. Starting with One more funny Adelle saying. There are a lot so bear with me, but I hope you all enjoy!

Tribute to President Hinckley

Last night a man I have never met face to face, but has inspired me passed away. President Gordon B. Hinckley was truly a Prophet of God . He was a man that helped me through my teenage years, has helped me in my marriage, and in raising my children.
His inspiration to the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been incredible. I am truly grateful to have been led by him. He truly is a servant and witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that he is now reunited with his wife Marjorie, and with the our Savior Jesus Christ, whom he served so well.

Why I love renting

Reason #1


A hole in the fence is not my problem. (You can no longer see the hole in the fence because they came and fixed it before I could get a picture, but you can see the debris from where some one bashed the fence in. Also where the wood no longer matches.)

Reason #2


A tub full of standing water is not my problem. Granted we needed to shower at the Crawford's Saturday night. (Thanks Crawfords) But hopefully the maintenance men will be around soon to fix it, so I can take a shower in my own shower this morning.

I know many people would say that renting is a pain, but living on Campus at the U they are pretty good about getting things fixed around here (at least they have been for us!)

So these types of things that would probably stress me out don't, because I know that some one will fix the problem, so Scott or I don't have to!

Reading with Daddy

This is part of our nightly routine (when Scott is home) to read Miss Spider. Scott does all the voices, and the girls just love it! (As you can see.)
I tried to be discreet in taking the video, but Adelle saw me and wasn't as cooperative as I wanted her to be, but that's the way it goes.

Happy New Year!

For New year's eve we have a tradition to get together with the Fox Family, the Wights and the Richardsons. Unfortunately because of a car crash Melissa Richardson was laid up in the hospital to keep from miscarrying. Though we missed the Richardsons greatly we managed to have fun. One tradition we have upheld over the years is that we all go around and say what we are thankful for. This was Lilly and Adelle's response.

Mommy's helpers

Surprise Mommy! Scott and I walked in on the two girls mopping the entryway floor. They received some pretend cleaning supplies from Santa and they needed to try them out. They failed to understand that they were pretend cleaning supplies and they were supposed to mop with pretend water.
Adelle's comment about eating yogurt is from another experience when she was caught on video eating a Go-gurt when she wasn't supposed to be.

A few days ago when we were all in the car Scott and I were disagreeing about something and Scott told Adelle to say "Daddy's an angel" Adelle then said "Mommy's an angel". That's one smart child!

Lilly

Now Lilly's turn.

Lilly is getting bigger by the day and actually has some hair! She talks a lot and definitely has her own personality.

She doesn't sleep very much, which can cause some anxiety for her mother. It is a lot of fun, though, when she is awake when Scott and I go to bed. We usually invite her to play for a few minutes in our bed before she returns to her bed and we all fall asleep.

It's so nice to have a child communicate so well. She tells me when she's hungry, thirsty, wants to be held, and kind of has a sense of humor about things.

She loves to follow her sister around and copy everything she does. It is so funny to hear Adelle say something and Lilly mimic her and laugh. I laugh a lot when those two are together.

Lilly has just discovered how to jump with both feet leaving the floor. I often get the request "Mommy watch" and she musters all her strength to achieve this. (I would have to say that her new phrase of late is "Mommy watch" as she does of variety of things. The hard part is she often does it when I'm driving.)

She also has really shown an huge interest in the male gender. Whenever we go to my parents house the first person she acknowledges, before we get to the door, is Bocca (my dad) then immediately asks for Davy (my brother). She also has a very special relationship with my brother-in-law Matt, and has become less, and less of a "Mama's Girl" and more of a "Daddy's Girl"

Adelle

I need to post some of the funny things Adelle has been saying lately.

About a week ago before we had family prayer Scott asked if there was anything we needed to pray for. He addressed Adelle and asked if any of her friends needed special blessings. She responded with "No, they can bless themselves."

Then earlier this week Adelle was sitting on the counter as I was preparing for dinner. She observed that I had neglected to properly place the handle on a particular pan, I was using, and it was in Lilly's reach. So Adelle moved the handle for me informing me, "So Lilly doesn't get burned."

A couple of days ago we bought a Book of Mormon for Lilly so she would feel included in family scripture study. Adelle kept saying how happy she was that Lilly had her own Book of Mormon, and when it came time for scriptures she turned to Lilly and said, "Do you want to read from your own scriptures?'"

Okay so it's been forever! Let's just say the Holidays are were the craziest this year!
We had two birthday parties for Adelle, finals, a Christmas party for some of our friends in the area, my birthday, Christmas Eve parties, Christmas Day drama, and then New Year's Eve Parties, and I'm still recovering! I swear my house hasn't been cleaned in a month, and I have spent all week doing laundry and still haven't caught up!
Whew! that was a mouth full. As you can see by the counter we will be done with school in May of this year! I thought this day would never come, and I can't get too excited yet. If we don't get a good job after graduation Scott is thinking about Law School! So pray that we get a good job, so I don't have to do this school thing anymore! Just kidding! I support him in his decision, I just hope that something will come along so that we don't need to take that route.
The girls are getting big, and I cannot believe how sick they have been this winter. Lilly and Adelle have spent most of the month of January cooped up indoors not being able to play with friends becuase they have had one cold after another. I'm grateful it's just colds though.
I have a favor to ask all of you that read my blog. I have some dear friends that had a very premature baby (about 4 months early) if you could keep baby Gavin in your prayers I think this family would really appreciate it!
