Five years ago today my best friend became my Eternal Companion. I am so grateful that Scott chose me, and that we continue to progress together everyday.

For those of you that are interested here is our story...

Scott and I were in the same Singles Ward in South Jordan, Utah. We served on the Fellowshipping Committee, but didn't really know each other. I had just ended a relationship and was wondering what was going to happen when a missionary I sent out came home. (two different boys)

Scott was interested in my best friend at the time, and we all started hanging out as a group. I immediately found a great friend in Scott and I found that I really enjoyed his company, and was quite taken with his beautiful smile, and kissable lower lip!

While Scott and I were developing a wonderful friendship I was having conflicting feelings with another friend of ours and the conflict of him being interested in my friend. Not to mention the boy I had been with for almost four years before his mission was coming home very soon. I was just determined to get over him and move on.

But it wasn't that easy. One day my group of friends decided to go and listen to Scott speak in his Stake. While Scott was speaking he was so witty, and charismatic, and passionate that I knew at that point my journey on getting over him was not going to be easy.

Some time later, during the 2002 Olympics, our group of friends decided to go to Park City and participate in the festivities. Another friend of ours had a cabin in Midway so we decided to go and stay the night up there after our nightly excursion. Well Scott and I were flirting like crazy, and having a lot of fun, when I put my hand in his coat pocket. Not realizing his hand was there when I put my hand in I began to pull it out and he grabbed on. We were pretty much in separable after that. (Mind you that this happened two weeks before the missionary I sent out came home)

But the plot thickens. After about three months of dating I knew that he was the one I wanted to marry. But he didn't figure things out that quickly. About six months into our courtship he went away for work for three weeks. In our three week separation he talked about getting married very subtly. And I was convinced that he was going to come home and propose to me. This was not the case. After a few disagreements, and a very frustrated Kimbur school had started and I decided to throw my everything into it to get my mind of my (what I thought) dead-end relationship.

Everything was going fine and I was fine. I was studying hard and getting pretty good grades, when something shook my life.

Our bishop at the time approached me in Relief Society and asked me how I was doing, and out of the blue I burst into tears! I had no idea where this was coming from, and he took me to his office to talk.

I related my frustrations to him, frustrations I didn't even realize I had at the time, and he gave me some wonderful advice about not being so available, but I knew at that point it had to be all or nothing.

I then told Scott that we needed to go on a break until he figured things out. Yes everyone I gave him the ultimatum. I told him to take his time, and figure things out. So he did.

Three days later I received a phone call while I was in class, and when I saw that it was him I was so nervous. I had no idea why he was calling me. I didn't think that he could have figured things out so soon. I called him back and went to his house.

Mind you it was his birthday so I took him a cake and a present. When I arrived he had just come home from work and he was translating a song from Spanish to English for me. He read me the lyrics, and played the song for me. He then told me that he wanted to progress with me, and I started to cry. We hugged and then I told him that he better get down on one knee and ask me right. So he did, and that is the beginning of our wonderful life together.

After five years, two kids, money problems, car problems, personalities conflicts, Scott is still my best friend and I love him more today than I did five years ago!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HONEY! I LOVE YOU!

Top 10 Things I am Grateful for.

In honor of Thanksgiving I thought I would give you all the top ten things that I am grateful for, because if I listed all the things that I was grateful for then we would all be here all night and that is not what I want to do right now. Anyway here it goes:

10-I am grateful for hot running water. Especially that it does not take 45 minutes to get to me.
9- I am grateful that my family is able to live here among so many wonderful people.
8- I am grateful that Scott is almost done with school (a Bachelor's anyway).
7- I am grateful that I have never gone truly hungry.
6- I am grateful for talents
5- I am grateful that we live in a country where we are free. And I am thankful for those men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom.
4- I am grateful for loving parents who cared and loved me enough to help me make correct decisions in my life.
3- I am grateful for my two beautiful daughters that teach me so much everyday, and truly are special spirits.
2- I am grateful for my wonderful husband, Scott. He works so hard for our family, and tries so hard to make me happy, even when it seems impossible. I'm thankful that he is the father of my children and that we will be able to be an Eternal Family if we live righteously.
1- I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ who has made this all possible for me
If you read this leave a comment about the things you are grateful for!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!

Heavenly Father

So today Scott asked Adelle where Heavenly Father is. This is how the conversation went:
Scott: Adelle where is Heavenly Father?
Adelle: At Church.
Scott: What is he doing there?
Adelle: Praying.
Scott: Who is he praying to?
Adelle: Grandpa Strawbere's Dad.
A week and a half ago Scott's grandpa died, and we went to his funeral on Tuesday of last week. Adelle kept asking all sorts of questions, and I think our answers to her questions led up to the logic of her answers to Scott's questions.
Also the part about Grandpa Strawbere. One day Scott, the girls and I were visiting Scott's dad and he gave us a bunch of strawberries. Adelle loves strawberries so this was a real treat for her so she started calling Scott's dad "Grandpa Strawbere"

I'm Coffee?

So a some of you have taken this quiz. So I thought I would give it a go. I am Coffee, whatever that means.
Compared to other ice creams, coffee ice cream has a strong flavor, and it's packed with caffeinated sweetness. You're like that, too! You're always busy, and determined to stay focused as you move from one task to the next. You get frustrated when other people slow you down or hold you back, but when you're in control, you can find ways around any obstacle.

Halloween Costumes

Here is a slide show of the girls in their Halloween Costumes. I made most of Lilly's and embellished Adelle's. I think they turned out pretty cute!

New Camera

So for those of you who didn't pick up on my last two posts I have a new video camera. Nothing fancy it only takes 30 minutes of video, but what more could I need. I really needed a digital video camera so that I would take more video of my kids. It's also really small about the size of a point an shoot digital camera. As you can see I'm already having a great time with it. So I hope all of you can enjoy me having a fun time with it!

Umbrella

So for those of you that know "Umbrella" by Rhianna you will appreciate this.

Adelle's Talk

Last Sunday our ward had our Primary Program, and Adelle gave her very first talk in Sacrament Meeting. I wish that I could have recorded her in Sacrament Meeting, but we recorded her at home instead. Enjoy!

Mommy!!!!!

Tonight for the first time Lilly was really excited to see me and she exclaimed "Mommy" You are probably thinking that's strange, but for the past month every time she is excited to see me she says "Daddy". It makes sense really. The parent she usually gets the most excited to see is Scott because she sees him less than me. That or she relates him to exciting, fun things, and me not as much. (Scott is by far the funner parent.)

Snuggle Bug

This is a picture to show everyone how snuggly Adelle is. Last night she commented that she wanted Lilly to sleep with her. Because Lilly doesn't have the hang of sleeping on an elevated bed without railings Scott decided to move Adelle's twin-sized mattress onto the floor so the sisters could sleep together. And this ladies and gentlemen was the result of my girls sleeping in the same bed.

I think Adelle is taking after her mother in this regard.

Eventful Halloween!

Well Halloween, or should I say the following day, was quite an eventful day for us at the Foutz Home. After four different Trick or Treating excursions over a six day period. (not to mention a Halloween party the previous Saturday) We set home from my mom and dad's house to sleep and have a calm evening. Scott and I set off to bed at about 11:00 and I was hoping to get a good night's rest so that I could resume my usual daily activities. Well Lilly thought other wise.

Lilly did not go Trick or Treating at my mom and dad's because I could sense a bit of a cold and decided to keep her indoors. Then when I put that sweet girl to bed I could sense that something was not quite right, and she was pretty sick, so I set up the baby monitor next to my side of the bed so I could listen to her.

After I fell asleep I heard Scott get out of bed and then heard Lilly wheezing terribly. Scott then called to me, and told me that she was really struggling to breath. I threw on my bathrobe and took Lilly outside in the cold air to reduce the swelling in her wind pipe. After sitting with her for a few minutes and getting her back to sleep I went back upstairs to Scott where he gave Lilly a blessing. I then called my mom to see if there was anything that I could give her to help her breath better. She told me there was nothing and then over-heard Lilly's breathing.
Mom: "Is that her breathing?"
Me: "Yeah"
Mom: "I think you may need to take her in"
Me: "You think?"
Mom: "Yeah, I never had any of my kids sound like that."
Knowing that my parents have been to the emergency room multiple times with children with croup I decided that she was right and that Scott and I needed to take her to the hospital.

Luckily we live so close to Primary Children's Hospital. We got into the car, sleeping Adelle and all, and went to the emergency room. I went through the front doors and they took Lilly and I back immediately and got her started on a mist treatment. They took her vitals and she fought them tooth and nail with the pressure cuff. Then they took us to a room and put some kind of medicine in the little mister and gave Lilly a breathing mask so that that medication could be right closer to her mouth and nose. That was when the wrestling match began. Right from the beginning she broke the strap on the mask so I had to just hold it on her face. She fought me screaming "Mommy" "No" and just screaming. You never really know how strong your children are until they are in a situation like that. Granted I was alone, Scott and Adelle were still in the waiting room and there wasn't really anyone that could help me, so I sang and shushed and did everything that I could to try and calm her. Finally she started to go to sleep and the medicine was gone. They came in again to take her vitals and we started to wrestle again. Shortly thereafter they told us they wanted her to stay overnight and moved us to the R.T.U. wing where we stayed until 2:00 p.m. that afternoon.

One of the funniest parts of this whole story is that Adelle stayed asleep for the whole thing. She was moved 3 different times and woke up briefly when we arrived at the hospital. Thank heaven for heavy sleepers!

Lilly is doing much better now. She is coughing, but other that that you would never know that she is sick.
