Totally kidding! I did feed him his meals. I promise. I just thought it completely ironic that he was doing this on a day that I pretty much sat all day scrapbooking, playing with music, you know the stuff that doesn't require walking. Needless to say I'm still in a lot of pain, but I did get to the Chiropractor today(and thank you Kacy, I was very impressed). I go back again on Saturday, and hopefully I will be back to myself in the next week or two :)

Another sewing project...

I have been busy at my machine these days, and I have forgotten how much I LOVE to sew! When I saw this on Salty Pineapple...

I had to make them. (Don't you just love that sassy pose, she did herself.)

I am all about promoting independence in children, (more so I don't have to do it) and thought this would make it so much easier for my girls to haul around their large beach towels. They have also been really helpful in carrying mine and Gavin's towels around too because its so easy!

The Cars

On Saturday we had the pleasure of competing in our Ward's Pinewood Derby. Since my life is so busy I decided the day of the race to go to Michael's and get the cars. (Because that was where I was told to get them, there or the Boy Scout store.) And just as my luck would have it the cars were gone. So...I turned to my children, looking at me with doe eyes, and asked if they wanted to go somewhere else to get the cars. Of course they wanted to go somewhere else, they've been talking about this derby for weeks! I get on my handy dandy Blackberry and Google "Boy Scouts Store". To which Google brings up a store in Bethesda (for those of you that don't know Bethesda is 45 minutes away). Being the naive woman, but dedicated mother, (ha, ha) that I am I tell the kids that the store is really far and ask them one more time if they, really, want to go. To my astonishment (italics added for sarcastic emphisis) they said "yes" and I packed them all in the car and headed to Bethesda.

Long story short...I hit traffic, taking an hour to get to my destination, getting a little lost, but taking a small detour through the Naval Hospital, barely making it to the store before closing time, and causing us to be late to the activity, (but we didn't miss the race)!

Here's the kicker! As I'm telling people about my adventures to Bethesda, my story was returned by puzzled looks and..."Kimbur didn't you know that there is a Boy Scout Store just up the road from here?" (Doh!...palm slap to the forehead!)

Now isn't it Ironic?

(by the way my girls won both of their races! Who needs aerodynamics, when you've got crayons, stickers and WD-40?)

Have you ever eaten chicken from the White House?

I have.
After six hours of overtime on the Fourth of July, Scott brought home some left-over chicken from all the festivities at the White House.

How was it, you ask? Just good. It wasn't what I was expecting for sure. When you are the Prez and can have any food you pretty much want, I was expecting amazing.

But it was just good.

One of my latest projects...

I found instructions for recovering a camera strap at Make It and Love It and I thought..."what a cute idea"... so I, of course needed a cute camera strap too!
I love my buttons! I thought it might also be cute to add a flower or a bow. Somebody should try it and let me know what they think!
Then here's me wearing said strap & camera after my Groove class (hence the messy hair, and the make-up is from the previous day. Nice huh?) Anyway I wish I wasn't so tall and busty because the strap seems really short when I wear it, but that's me tall and busty :)

A story that changed my life.

The above pictured is Elder Hugh B. Brown (1883-1875) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. (For those of you that didn't know what he looked like. I didn't.) In 1973 the New Era published this story by him and I heard it first when I was living in South Jordan, but I heard it again today and was reminded of the change that took place in my life.

I truly believe that our Father in Heaven knows what's best for us, even when we can't see what's ahead. I'm grateful to a Father that loves me enough to guide my in a way that is best for me and my family, even if it is hard for me. I'm also grateful for an Atonement that is there to help me...carry me while I'm figuring out what my Father has in store for me. I am grateful for this knowledge that I have found through The Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is true, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Mexican huh?

With all the hype surrounding Independence Day, Lilly was exposed to a lot of Patriotism. American Flags, we learned the Star Spangled Banner etc. Earlier this week we went to Target to buys some shorts for Adelle because she has out grown hers, and their Fourth of July T-shirts were on sale and Adelle wanted one. It was three bucks, why not it makes her happy, and she needs more clothes. (I'm trying to hold off until school time)

The next day at the breakfast table, as Adelle is proudly wearing her new patriotic t-shirt, Lilly says:

Lilly: "Look there's the Mexican flag."

Me: "So Lilly are you American or Mexican"

Lilly: "Mexican"

One of my favorite things...

a full closet of clean clothes. All color coordinated in the same sequence of a rainbow. (don't judge me I know I'm quirky) Now what is one of your favorite things?

As we go to the beach! Last Wednesday we took the journey to Ocean City, Maryland to check out their beach. It was a two and a half hour drive and we ended up driving through Delaware to get there (thank you gps). Anyway here are some pictures of day...

This is what Gavin thought of the whole trip. (P.S. this is what happens to a photographer that wants to get beach pictures, is sooo paranoid about her six-year-old being taken under because she's not paying attention to the waves crashing right behind her, is also worried about her four-year-old, but not as much, as I said before sand is more her thing, and is caring for a baby that is not having any fun. Not to mention the paranoia she's feeling about getting sand in her camera. She forgets to turn down her ISO and what does she get? A really grainy picture. Owell it captures my Gav Man and his beach experience. So I turned the camera to full auto and captured this...)

Overall the trip was fun. But I have to say my East-Coast beach experience compared to my West-Coast...West-Coast is the way to go. The sand is finer, the waves are better (at least at the beach we were at) & the lighting was really weird. I don't know if it was the day or what but it was a weird kind of green lighting. Not that I would hold that against the beach. I'm just saying it was strange. The biggest thing. We could not find a public shower ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Can you imagine a two & half hour sand scrub on your legs and hiney? Lets just say my skin is extra smooth)

That was our trip and it was fun. Ta-duh!

p.s. I don't have anymore pictures of Adelle because after i took the picture of the upset Gavin he and I went to the umbrella and just hung out for the rest of the time. Owell next time Adelle. I still love you :)

My latest small dilema...

grocery shopping. (dun,dun,dun) Am I just a big wuss or do you have this problem too? I plan all my meals, plan out my shopping list get everything ready for the big day to follow, and go to bed that night thinking this trip will be different. I am fully prepared) You get up the next day and you pile all three kids into the car, all three on their best behavior. You have the talk with them before you go in the store "be good or I'll put you up for adoption" (just kidding), and the moment they get out of the car...CHAOS!

Climbing on the cart, pulling cart into displays, running so far ahead that you have to shout for them to come back, (because you need to turn down this isle and you can't leave the baby unattended in the cart), walking into this person and that person, "mommy can I have this sample, can I have that sample, can we get a treat, I wish we could buy a toy, (as you enter the side of the store furthest from the bathroom cart half full of groceries) I have to go to the bathroom... I'm gonna pee right now", baby's climbing out because it's nap time and he wants to be held, so you're juggling baby and pulling the cart (because you can do that one handed)

Have any of you experienced the above? I dreaded school letting out for this, not having my oldest home, but the thought of the shopping. I struggle with two, but add a third, and I think I may be going crazy!!!!!! I have avoided grocery shopping lately because I would rather starve that deal with the insanity! (Okay it really could be a lot worse and we aren't starving:)

I guess what I'm getting at is what have you done to solve this problem? Paid a babysitter, have a deal with your hubby, trade with a friend, or do I just need to bite the bullet and do the shopping this way until they are all in school?

Advice here is greatly needed!!

I am officially grounding myself from the internet this week!!! Why you ask? This is why...
