I seriously have the best kids in the whole world! This weekend at Time Out For Women one of the presenters Linda J. Eyre was sharing a story about a time she was in a Sunday School class where a man was basically bragging about his kids the entire time. She said at some point a gentleman at the back of the class stood up and said…
“God must not’ve thought much of you as a parent sendin ya all them easy kids.”
Yeah God must not have though much of me either because my kids are pretty easy.
Let me just tell you how easy. (Time for me to brag.) This is my sweet son helping me bring in the things that he and I had purchased for the day.
Just look at that face struggling to bring up the balaclava. You made it buddy!
How cute is that!?
so I was sent to time out this past weekend…
that is.
I was so privileged to spend an amazing weekend with an amazing group of women. We laughed…cried…hugged (even those who are not huggers)…but most of all we were uplifted.
Here are a couple of my favorite quotes…
“This is your journey. Do it your way”
Marjorie Pay Hinkley
“She that is too busy to pray is busier than the Lord wants her to be”
Mariama Kallon
“If the only goal is to go back, then why did we come?”
Brad Wilcox
“The ultimate is not us seeing Christ, but that Christ sees His countenance in us”
Brad Wilcox quoting a missionary that served under him in Chile.
This weekend was truly wonderful and just what the doctor ordered!
…and Angela don’t worry the silly picture I have of you I didn’t post, but I am keeping it for good measure. Wahahahahah!
I totally stole this from my friend from Facebook and I thought it was fun.

…so I made a few more.

My Favorite Quote from October’s General Conference
My Motto
As you may know Lilly started Kindergarten back in August, and she is having a ball!
She recently was given a test called Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skill or DIBELS for short. (Which thank heaven they gave it a nickname because that is one long name for a test.)
Now it’s time for me to brag. Quoting the report that I got it reads…
“…kindergarteners are expected to identify 10 initial sounds in one minute… Your child was able to name 49 initial sounds in one minute.” I was blown away! (Don’t tell me its normal let me have my moment.) My girl can rattle off the sounds she hears like nobody’s business!
I think we will now need to begin saving for Harvard.
I have been one project completing fool the past couple of weeks.
I took a little time off when both girls went to school to get into “groove” of things. (I still feel I haven’t figured it out but we’re still “groovy” anyway ha, ha. Ok lame joke)
This little ditty I am very proud of.
Have you seen the super simple, modern, framed “LOVE” that has been popping up here, there and everywhere? You can fine one here and a whole bunch here.
I thought to myself “Let’s get with the times and jump on this trend, because I can totally do this on Photoshop!” So I did.

Isn’t she purty? So I framed her.

And maybe someday hang her on my wall. But for now on my dresser is where she will sit.
Now you all can know what Scott and I are all about…awwww! (mush mush, gush gush!)
one more thing to waste my time on. But I came across Design Seeds (am I just behind the times or something?) and I am IN LOVE!! Seriously get me a marriage license I want to marry this blog. Here are a couple of my favorites

It is totally funny that I came across this site because I have been agonizing over my home’s color scheme. You see I have decided to simplify. (Ironic I know. I can just hear Scott’s voice in my head “Doesn’t that make it more complicated when you agonize over it?”)
Simplify. I want to simplify. Remember I want to be this lady who has like 4 colors in her house. So here are my two favorites (I can’t be too simple)…

But I had to modify them slightly to accommodate my bright personality…
Yes I am fully aware that there are three shade of pink in these pictures. What can I say “I like pink.”
How I’m going to incorporate a little boys room and a man’s room in these colors.I.not.sure.yet. But I know I will figure it out
While eating breakfast a couple of days ago Adelle jokingly announced that she knew everything. Scott joked with her saying that when she’s nineteen she will know everything (kind of an ongoing joke in our family that teenagers know everything. Then as soon as you turn twenty you know nothing.)
Well of course Lilly had to pipe in with her two cents…
“God knows everything”
Okay it really wasn’t that spectacular, but I feel I discovered something. ![]()
(Nice picture huh? Be quiet I was hosting) I made crepes forthefirsttimeeverinmylife. And I’m sorry to say this but THEY WERE AWESOME!! Not to toot my own horn or anything, but they were really good. (To me anyway. And just so you know it took me like all day to cook all that batter.)
Back to my discovery. How many of you like apple pie? Go on, go ahead raise your hand…one, two, three, four, fivesixseveneightnineten…okay too many to count. Well guess what? I DON’T. Don’t get me wrong. I love the crisp crust sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, but as soon as you add those ewwy-gooey-mushy-gushy-applesauce-tasting apples to that crust you ruin the WHOLE THING!
Okay ask me how I really feel.
BUT! (yes it a big but). My genius friend Amanda brought apples to put on the crepes. When she suggested it I thought to myself…
My family have always been strawberries, whipped cream, and bananas kind of crepe people. I personally like mine with just cinnamon and sugar. Which led me to conclude…
Don’t you just love my thought process? Anyway here was my concoction…
Cinnamon and Sugar
Apples
Caramel
more Cinnamon and Sugar
Roll
Whipped Cream
more Caramel
Yay! no mushy apples on my “apple pie”. No crisp crust either, but it was really yummy.
You should try it!
