Peter Pan!

while shopping for a baby girl gift for my sister in law lilly saw some of the boy clothes.  she then proceeded to grab a shirt and yelled:

mommy this is for peter pan!

this baby already has a nick name that has stuck!

Roses?

one night lilly was going to bed and put her foot in my face.

lilly:"mommy smell my feet"

mom: (i smell feet) "eww... stinky"

lilly: "no roses"

okay lil whatever you say.

this morning before church adelle came into our room and woke me up with a this question:

adelle: mom can i wear this dress (pictured above)?

mom: sure

adelle: (returning to her room) thank you Heavenly Father.

another thing adelle has picked up on is the word "remarkable"  everything today has been remarkable.

where does she get this stuff?

new member

for lilly's birthday my mom gave her this beautiful barbie. as we all knelt in family prayer tonight scott suggested we hold hands in our "prayer circle".  

as we all held hands i went to grab lilly's hand and she said "no hold cinderella's hand"

i guess cinderella has been initiated into our family.

My Lilly is 3! we have had a lot of craziness at our house (and it will probably continue for the next few months, that's what happens when you're pregnant) anyway we didn't do a big shin dig like we did for adelle, but we had a good day anyway. we played at the playground, went shopping, and mcdonalds for dinner, all per lilly's request. so here a couple of pictures so that you can see the presents she got, and her birthday muffin for breakfast.

where balloons go?

today adelle shared with me (and the clerk at robert's) the language of balloons. yesterday as the girls and i were at robert's (a craft store) they were handing out helium balloons. each girl picked out a color and was very content with their floating prize.

well balloons don't last more than 24 hours so by the end of the day they were gone.

today i had a couple of other things to get at robert's. as we approched the counter where the cashier was standing adelle and lilly asked for a new balloon.

adelle then proceeded to share her balloon language with the cashier.
"we got balloons yesterday by mine ran out of breath (translation: mine got a hole and leaked helium) and lilly's went around the world (translation: lilly's flew away)
ahhh... if only i was a balloon!

i hate it when you get a new cell phone and the person that had the number before you didn't let everyone know what their new number is.

since i've had my cell phone i keep getting phone calls for the lady that had the number before me, and they are mostly telemarketers. mind you i have had this cell phone for almost a year now and these people don't get it that i am not who they are trying to get a hold of.

when i was showering this evening (see two posts before) i received a before mentioned call. i usually just ignore them but my phone was in reach of adelle and not me so she answered it.

when she talked to the man on the other end he was clearly from another country (i think India or Pakistan, or something of that nature). because of his accent adelle was a little confused and having trouble understanding him. she then told the man that he should speak another language!

adelle i couldn't agree more!

Baby names

So in honor of the new member of the family coming to be with us soon I decided to change the feel of the blog for a little while (it will probably only be for a little while because I am as girly as they come, maybe not though i am about as lazy as they come these days too) I also thought that the picture above pretty much sums up the chaos that is my life right now!

Anyway I have to tell you what my girls have said about the names of this little guy!

the names i have picked out (scott and i have had a hard time nailing some names down) are:

1. Peter
2. Scott David
3. Gavin

(there are stories behind each name that i will share with you soon)

so adelle's pick is: gavin
lilly's pick is: peter pan!

Mother of the year!

So this is what I found this afternoon when I woke up...

For anyone who needs a nominee for mother of the year let me tell you why I should be nominated. I sleep in until 12:30 p.m., let my children mess up the house and then not take care of the mess for days or leave it for my husband, let my children run around (in the house) in their swimsuits in 30 degree weather, let them wear their pajamas all day long, put my kids to bed at 10:30 at night, and one time didn't feed them dinner until that time, naps shmaps, let them watch TV for hours on end or play on the computer (playhouse Disney), neglect their baths all week long (even gone to church with dirty hair a few times and no need to fix hair any other day of the week), eat out more than once a week, or eat cheese quesadillas more than once in a week for dinner, then neglect their breakfast so the two of them fen for themselves (we've had some interesting concoctions) and while this all goes on most of the time sitting on the couch or in bed either sleeping or watching TV.
And that is why I should be nominated for mother of the year! (Don't call child protective services on me, please, it has just been a rough week)

My Girls!

So I am about the laziest pregnant woman ever! I rarely roll out of bed before 10 a.m. but it is usually more like 11 a.m. and sometimes when I do I just lay on the couch until 1. So because of all this my children have become very independent. After feeding themselves breakfast, (Adelle cereal, Lilly cream cheese and crackers), this is what I found...

Awww! I love how well they almost always play together. Someday girls you will have your mom back! (Disclaimer: I have since cleaned my room, and they did not pull the carpet up, we had a leaky water heater and was airing the carpet out)
