She know what's valuable!

One of the ways we discipline Adelle is we take her favorite toys away.
So on Thursday of last week Adelle had made a big mess in the basement. I told her that she needed to clean it up. Needless to say she was not happy about this situation and proceeded to tell me that she was going to take away my husband!
I then realized that she knows that the most valuable thing to me is Scott, and I'm grateful that Scott and I have worked and continue to work together to show our love for each other to her! It also makes me feel good that the work is paying off.

One of the best things you can do for your children is to love your spouse!

Four Years Ago!

Exactly four years ago today Marjorie Adelle Foutz was born at 12:01 p.m. weighing in at 8 lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 in. long. Adelle cam to us at a time in our lives when it was definitely not the most convenient. But worth every step of the way!

We had only been married four months when we got pregnant with Adelle, Scott was going to school and at a job with no hope of promotion. I was working at a job I hated and two months before Adelle came, was laid of. Making the insurance issue a big old mess!

But Scott got a new job, and we worked out the insurance issues all because we were blessed by having this wonderful girl in our life.

Scott and I both agree that having Adelle in our life has made life so much more meaningful, and so much fuller. We have enjoyed watching Adelle grow these four years, and love the sweet spirit she brings into our home.

Adelle is smart, fun, very loving, has a great memory, willing to share, loves to snuggle, helpful, compassionate, forgiving, and has a great capacity to love. Those are just a few of the wonderful qualities of Adelle.

Thanks Adelle for wanting to come and live with us and be apart of our Eternal Family! We are so grateful to have you in our lives!

WE LOVE YOU ADELLE!

Sweet

Adelle was dancing this evening with her Dora doll. When I saw her I said "how sweet".

At that point Lilly began reaching for her Dora doll saying "sweet, sweet".

I love how she wants to do everything her big sister does.

Family Sometimes Bad?

This evening when we were closing our Family Home Evening Scott suggested singing "Families Can be Together Forever." This is how the song went this evening:

Everyone:"I have a family here on Earth
They are so good to me..."

Adelle: "and sometimes bad."

Well nobody's perfect.

Happy Birthday Adelle!

Yesterday we celebrated Adelle's birthday with the family. I'm not kidding the WHOLE family. We were missing only three people; Scott's dad, baby sister Melissa and her husband Jeremy. But we sure had a good time cramming all those people into our house. There were more than twenty people here! It was awesome! A lot of people love you Adelle!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(Special Thanks to Jeni, and Sherrie for loaning me the cake pedestals. And thanks Matt for taking pictures! And thanks everyone for coming!)

Mice!!

So a couple of nights ago Scott informed me that there was a big rat running around our backyard and to make sure to keep the back door shut at all times. (It's kind of hard to shut, you have to really slam it!) The thought of having a big rat in my house made me so freaked out. I had a dream that night that the back door was chained, but open and this huge rat was running around my kitchen. So I've been really good about keeping the back door slammed!

Then as Adelle and I were preparing for her birthday party with our family we saw a mouse running around in the snow looking, unsuccessfully, for food. Poor guy I almost felt sorry for him, because he was small, but then really for mouse he was rather fat! Then the thought of the huge rat running around my kitchen made my feelings of compassion leave me immediately.

O'well I think that comes with the territory of living in a house rather than an apartment on the 13th floor.
